RE: <SALES> FTP to VAN

Tracy,
Many of our customers utilize Cleo Lexicom for S/FTP to QRS/IBM Advantis. They
have a pre-configured host for the network, you are able to easily import and
exchange digital certificates (X.509) and interface natively with most
translators out there. If not, you could simply specify the In/Out path from
your existing translator. I have not heard of any security issues regarding its
usage.
Sincerely,
Brian Tervo

Subject: [EDI-L] FTP to VAN
Hi All,
We are switching from bisynch to ftp for our VAN communications. I
have concerns about security. It is my understanding that secure ftp
is not so secure; besides, my VAN (sterling) does not support secure
ftp anyway.
For those using ftp to your van, are you worried about security? If
so, what are you doing about it? I am specifically interested in QRS
and Sterling VAN's. We will be using GIS as our translator on a Unix
box.
No sales please. Thanks!
Tracy
