I too have a requirement to have a hard copy as well as an automatic
process to my ERP system. Here's how I solved it.

I set up several mailboxes and a dummy trading partner (no pun
intended, and yes, I do have trouble sometimes keeping them straight)
and here;s how I use them. This is high level only, there are various
config settings which are specific to my shop, you can adjust to your
own shop as needed.

1)EDI in to Sterling mailbox
2)Passed to Gentran Application
3)All trading partners have Translation output to a flat file in a
directory with the dummy TP application ID hardcoded into the header
record
4) a collection mailbox grabs everything in the directory and has
multiple recipients, i.e a mailbox that extracts to ERP, sent back to
Gentran application, an email mailbox for routing, etc
5) Gentran application passes the flat file back to the dummy TP
6) the dummy TP has an app to app map which reformats the flat file
into a printer friendly format and outputs to a mailbox which sends
the printer formatted file to email recipients to review and print

Is this kludgy? Yes. But, it works, and my users aren't out on a limb
as far as knowing when something is or is not in the system.

Regards
Rod
