RE: Need help with vendor search
Before we get too far ahead of ourselves he said outsource the EDI
Mapping. That isn¡Çt synonymous with outsource the EDI department. He
could mean anywhere from the company has signed on a big new customer
and wants to speed up the implementation time of a bunch of new EDI
Maps, All the way to management has read in the paper how cheap it is to
outsource to third world countries.

I work for an outsourcing company. I am not going to give a sales pitch
as
I don't think that is appropriate here. My experience is that while
often
the EDI dept. like yourself lose their job, that is not always the case.
I
have seen multiple instances where the company has found a place in the
organization for their valued employees.
It sounds like your company is at least committed enough to this line of
thinking to investigate it. I can guarentee that if you sabatage the
effort
you will lose your job whether they choose outsourcing or not. I would
think the management is smart enough to see if you do indeed try to
sabatage
it.
Oursourcing is not a good fit for every company but where it is it can
be a
win-win.
Just my two cents.
