Lad,
A very funny post. This one's a EDI-L instant classic.
Anyway... I think you've gotten some good advice. My
2 cents on this would be that you recommend moving slowly to
your management. I would take 5 or 6 potential trading partners
off your backlog list and hand them over to the various mapping
companies and see what they can do. Let the other company do the
mapping and the testing and the documentation. Then before you
turn a partner production have them deliver all that stuff back
to you. If you really like mapping so much (I don't) this would
give you a chance to see how other mappers tackle certain problems
and you might learn some things. If the partner requires small
changes to your maps in the future you could handle it yourself.
