At the AIAG conference last summer, Autotech, OAGI had a live
interoperability demonstration with several vendors showing the process flow
between supplier and customer. The details might be on the OAGI or AIAG web
site.

We have not been involved in any OAGI that I know of.

I have been doing EDI with the auto industry for over 10 years and there are
a lot of horror stories out there. The typical documents are the 810, 820,
824, 856, 830, 850, 862, 997. There may be a few more depending on what
program you may get into for each customer.

The stories some into play if you are a production supplier. This is where
it gets real critical.

Let me know if this helps.

I just got word that my company just got a contract with MOPAR
(Chrysler). This is our first venture into EDI with the automotive
industry. I have heard all sorts of horror stories, and I am trying
really hard not to freak out.

What are the typical documents for the auto industry? What's
different about doing EDI with auto vs retail?

Thanks everyone,
Tracy
