Usually the embedded link takes you to some site other than the official
Yahoo, Paypal, Ebay, whatever site where you can sign up again with your
password, Visa card number, Swiss bank account# and all the other things
needed to verify your identity. Usually this technique is referred to as
'phishing', pun intended.
