I guess there's a misperception out there about what I was asking. I don't
want to disable inbound syntax checking. I really don't want to receive
such documents from production mode trading partners. I just couldn't think
of a good reason why TPs would send standards violating documents.

However, I seem to remember that you are using Tie eVision product, if you
do, you could use the syntax-level exception to disable the syntax checking.
