Hi Bonnie,

We use WS_FTP Pro version 8 for SSL FTP. Version 8 is first version to
support SSL.

Here is a simple FTP example script I used to connect. I first setup my
server name, login, password in WS_FTP Pro gui. Note server type SSL
implicit (login encrypted) or not. Then, put the attached script on your
PC. Modify logs, local directory and add error handling as required. See
WS_FTP help, search under "SSL 1" for other options.

To execute from DOS, I cd to C:\Program Files\WS_FTP Pro then ran "ftpscrpt
-f file". To run from anywhere on your hardrive, add path to autoexec.bat -
instructions on www.ipswitch.com.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [EDI-L] WS-FTP via Gentran for Windows

Good Morning,

This may be a simple question for someone, but I haven't done this before so
it isn't simple to me, and I am looking for some direction.

Does anyone have any experience setting up a SSL/FTP connection using
WS-FTP? We are running an older version of WS-FTP (7.02) and I have
manually set up the connection and everything works great in both
directions, but I want to automate it. We are running Gentran for Windows
and I want to use the Process Control function to execute the connection,
but I'm having problems trying to get it automated...I currently have
several ftp connections that are just simple ftp connections and it works
fine, but I am doing something wrong when I try and get this set up. I get
messages indicating that I don't have an SSL connection.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on this? I have read the "help" info
with WS-FTP and it really isn't very helpful.

Thanks for your time,

Bonnie Boucher
