RE: Re: AS2 Vendor Info

Achieving more for less!
As an independent vendor neutral company that can represent our clients in
technology purchases, SterlingLink did a detailed analysis of bTrade, Cleo,
IPNet and ISoft 3-4 months ago (unfortunately not Cyclone). Since that
time, btrade is being acquired by Click Commerce with a June closured date
(I don't know if it's completed). Here is some short summary information
that may be helpful to the group on this subject.
bTrade. The company has delivered B2B infrastructure solutions since 1990
for the Fortune 500 and is well known within the AS2 community. Their
bTrade Relay creates very secure B2B communications. TDNgine is designed
for large corporations that need scalability and automating mission-critical
information and business processes over the Internet. It is designed to
support FTP, AS1, AS2, and AS3 Transports, provides multiple compression
technologies, has advanced security and a Web interface for administration.
With sales of $XXXXX and approximately XXXXX employees, bTrade certainly
isn't the largest provider of AS2 solutions but they are very good at what
they do. Price estimate is $XXXXX for large hub company.
Cleo Communications. Cleo's LexiCom product is a great solution for a small
to medium enterprise that is easy to implement and comes with preconfigured
profiles. Its support is limited to normal business hours but at an
estimated $XXXXX for 10 trading partners, you can't beat the price.
Inovis IPNet. Acquiring IPNet was a good move for Inovis. The EDI
TrustedLink translator was originally a Harbinger Corporation product, and
has a large customer base. Since then TrustedLink became a Peregrine
product and is now an Inovis product. With a large TrustedLink account
base, the IPNet solution should be doing well. IPNet's BizLink is a robust
AS2 solution for large corporations at a competitive estimated $XXXXX price.
They offer classroom training and 24x7support.
iSoft - Since Wal-Mart chose iSoft as its AS2 software provider, iSoft is
receiving much publicity. In addition, Wal-Mart negotiated one free
single-license client from iSoft available to all Wal-Mart suppliers.
Obviously, if you are a single client supplier to Wal-Mart, this is your
best solution. When Wal-Mart told all its suppliers to move to AS2, many
trade articles were written with iSoft getting mentioned. From the articles
and thousands of Wal-Mart suppliers, iSoft quickly acquired name
recognition. iSoft offers an especially good solution if you have AS2
trading partners with non-static IP addresses (like AOL dial-up users) .
They do offer robust solutions for large enterprises (i.e., Wal-Mart) and
can be very negotiable with their pricing, which ranges from $XXXXX to
$XXXXX for large company solutions.

Perry Short
