AS2 - iSoft vs. Cyclone

Subject: AS2 - iSoft vs. Cyclone
My company has owned the Cyclone software since around 1999, and
until January of 2003, had been trying to work with Cyclone on
deploying the tool with various trading partners. We were able to
install the software, and it appeared to have good functionality.
However, the licensing model made it unworkable. We had attempted to
work with Cyclone on their pricing structure for 18 months prior to
2003 to work through the licensing and cost issues, with no success.
We also needed a tool that could be used by trading partners with a
wide range of technical expertise, and without the need to navigate
through network firewall issues. Cyclone did not provide these
capabilities.

Beginning in early 2003, we evaluated a number of Cyclone AS2
competitors and conducted a number of product evaluations and proof-
of-concepts. The iSoft tool outperformed all of the other tools,
including Cyclone. Moreover, the iSoft team was able to rapidly
enhance their product for requirements needed in our highly regulated
environment. These enhancements were built into the base product for
use by all customers.

During development, unit testing, system testing and implementation,
the iSoft team was highly supportive and responsive. We are running
smoothly in production, and our end clients are very satisfied with
the product and service. We are supporting tens of millions of
dollars in sales per day using iSoft. We are also adding
approximately 3-5 new trading partners per week, and the queue of new
trading partners continues to grow as we market the facility
throughout the corporation.
