Subject: Re: [EDI-L] Salary question
I couldn't find "EDI" anywhere in their reporting, although I did like
the numbers that an "E-Commerce
Manager" earns in this marketplace. If he can find work.

Dale, your value is dependent on your years of expertise, and the
skills you provide. Mapping will
enhance your value. High-end translators and other programming skills
are also pot sweeteners.
(Hint: this is a good time to enroll in that Java class.)

The term "coordinator" is often misused. Many EDI Coordinators are
really programmers, analysts,
facilitators or managers. And many employers will want to call you
"coordinator" because it used to
denote a lower-end or clerical position.

Having said all that, the going rate for an "EDI Coordinator" - a one
man band that provides mapping,
troubleshooting, van babysitting, trading partner maint and relations -
seems to be 70-75K in this market.
Your town may be different. If your company is highly EDI dependent -
and your statements lead me to
believe that they are - than your value may be higher.
