RE: 832 integration

John,
Thanks for the feedback. I was not necessarily looking for Honda mechanics
specifically as much as I was fishing for 832 integration in general, but
your comments are interesting just the same. How do you deploy the 832 in
your system ? Are you committing the pricing from the 832 into your
system's price tables are do you simply hand it over to AR and 'take it
under advisement' so to speak.
(Actually, regarding Honda, I wasn't aware they sent it a second time.
There specs indicate once per month OR per supplier request OR price change
occurs. Either my specs are outdated or we're talking mechanics of a
specific Honda Plant (diff species of the genus Honda :)).

Subject: RE: [EDI-L] 832 integration
Hi Everyone:
The purpose of the 832 was to report pricing changes concerning your parts.
The initial project was going to send a sales/price catalog once a month to
the supplier so that the price of your part could be verified. You were
going to be given a week or so to review and if you did not have any issues
then the 2nd time during the month when the sales/price catalog was sent it
was the final version that was going to be used to lock the price for the
ASN priciing.
Honda does not require invoices since they are making an invoice for you on
their end when they receive your ASN. If the 862 or 850 that was sent to
you matches the ASN then once the material is received on their end they
create at the end of the month the 810 invoice.
The concept was a good one but I am not sure if it is complete or not yet.
The purpose was to reduce the amount of time that was being wasted on
pricing disputes which can cause long delays in getting your final payment.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
