With all due respect the only way to make the tms (753/754) work is to integrate
it with your own erp, tms and wms systems.
No one can come in with a boxed edi solution without understanding your own ops.
We use multiple 3rd party shippers, none of them were 753/754 capable.
We had to design new module on our erp, interfacing it with our shippers via web
just to help them collect 753 data so we could run it against our erp. Then we
run 754 against our db, and send our shippers summarized instructions.
This was the only way we could enable the jcp tms in our env. (Over 10000
outboud cases fot jcp on the good day).
Edi was only 10% of the issue.
Hope it helps.
Sorry if any sp errors. Sending from blackberry.

Subject: [EDI-L] <sales> 753 / 754 capabilities

A few of our techs recently attended a JCP Vendor Compliance
Seminar... More specifically speaking about JCP's 753/754
requirements. They mentioned that several 'success' stories were
told from a few companies' that were able to comply with the 753/754
transactions/requirements that JCP has... These companies also
mentioned the hundreds of thousands that were spent by them
designing a system that would give them that ability.... After
hearing this, it became aware to me that there is a definite need
for me to make the EDI world aware that 1 EDI Source has the ability
to help you out with those requirements for much less the cost...

The 753 (request for routing) and 754 (routing instructions)
transaction sets have attracted the attention of retailers, who
realize their value in managing dock traffic. Despite the growing
demand for their use, most EDI translators are not able to
accommodate these transaction sets, leaving vendors unable to
satisfy trading partner requirements.

The first tool designed to meet retailers' stringent demands, 1 EDI
Source's 753/754 add-on enables you to get appointment numbers and
receive instructions regarding carrier preference. Companies can
manage multiple route requests per PO using the 753/754 add-on,
allowing you to ship partial.

This add-on is in conjunction with our ASN software called ASN
Complete which was originally designed around JCP's very stringent
requirements. ASN Complete has proven to be an exceptional software
package for companies seeking to create serialized thermal transfer
labels and sending out transactions that are made into Standard ANSI
Advance Shipment Notification documents. It works with EDI Complete
to generate 856 transactions for your trading partners to their
specifications. Its numerous user-friendly attributes allow you to
import your shipping data, process the needed labels and finish the
shipment cycle as efficiently as possible.

Straightforward presentation eliminates cluttered screens. Data is
presented clearly and concisely.
Unlike other ASN packages, where the addition of a new trading
partner proves to be a cumbersome, lengthy task due to substantial
data entry, ASN Complete accepts each trading partner's shipping
data from the main EDI Complete© translation engine.
VICS Manifest and Shipping Manifest reporting.
Reprint individual labels or print additional labels when needed.
UCC/EAN-128 and SCC-14 labels can be printed according to the
trading partner's requirements.
1EDI Source will build the trading partner label formats to the
specifications required.

There much more functionality/info that I can provide someone who is
interested in learning about our solution. I can be reached at
