You see, William they are not asking for the entry level person. To know
these things you have to be a savvy, and heavily trained main frame
Gentran guy with a good 5 years of production experience under your
belt.
This job should have at least $70 p/h ticket on it. Believe me if you
know Project Management (besides the other things they want) it DOES
MAKE YOU A SENIOR DUDE. EDI Project manager or implementation specialist
should get at least $120 p/h, and EDI "architect" should get $150 or
more.
Why would the junior edi guy would do a project management, or
architecture? Was this included in the job description asn an FYI?
Please!!!
This sounded big time to me, but perhaps they are honestly trying to
help you out, since you are broke and want to use some help?
Or may be they just want to exploit some desperate EDI Professional who
was not able to find a spot during last few months? Well, incase you did
not notice, the market is much better then a year ago, and there are
people willing to pay the appropriate rates. If you can't get those
rates locally, perhaps you should reallocate and work elsewhere for a
change (except for India of course) and bring home some bacon.
Well, if you are all that, and you take this position for $37 p/h, then
I'll eat my hat, and send pix to prove it.

Well by my calculations sitting at home making $0 / hr
is not going to get you kids into college any sooner
either. How about just letting this go as it is. An
opportunity for someone with Gentran experience
(obviously not a senior person) to make some money in
a still recovering economy.
Between you myself and the rest of the list, it is
very easy to see why the jobs are going overseas with
people like you and llia. The entire EDI community is
not at the senior level. If you can remember back
that long Wayne, when you first started out a position
like this would would make you pretty damn happy to be
a consultant. Be consistant for gods sakes. You want
the jobs here but when they are offered your first
move is to insult and mock. I think your head has
gotten a tad to large for your shoulders, comments
like yours are best kept inside yourself. We need to
all work together in hard economic times, show some
support!!
Or are you just bitter because EDI Specialists wasn't
included in this contract post?
