RE: <SALES> Dealing with less skilled EDI folks

Hello Group,
SpecBuilder Enterprise from Edifecs provides several components that can
make this situation a little easier.
To make validating your partner's data files a shorter process,
SpecBuilder's Analyzer can test data files against your implementation
guides off-line and produce comprehensive and easy-to-read error reports
that span the transaction. You can document all of the errors in a data
file in one pass-through instead of bouncing a bad file off the map over and
over and finding a new error each time.
Not only does SpecBuilder allow you to create custom implementation guides
from the standard transactions, the DataGenerator utility can create test
files that you can use to test your own maps or provide to your partners to
test their maps. Again, these are created off-line, using your own guides
as the basis for the data file. Why spend time de-bugging test files, when
you can create your own in short order and know that they are actually
useful?

Subject: [EDI-L] Dealing with less skilled EDI folks
Hi Group,
I wanted to get a quick response about how best to deal with contracted EDI
folks who obviously either have not done much EDI or are not skilled at it
but try to bluff their way through & send many tests through that are not
even attempting to be close to the spec's or even pass X12 validation.
I have asked several times to not have the person send me bad data, but to
ask questions. When the questions come they are not specific like in what
Segment.
Any ideas to make this less painful for me?
Thank You
