RE: Current EDIFACT version is widespread use

If the Google oracle has the answer, the answer is D.01A. (I've googled for
EDIFACT and d96a, d.96a, d96b, d.96b, d97a,d.97a ... Etc).

Subject: [EDI-L] Current EDIFACT version is widespread use
Hi Everyone,
I'm wondering which version of EDIFACT has about the widest support base.
Some years ago I know D.96A had a fairly wide base, partly I think due
to EANCOM. And as I recall things settled on D.98A for a while.
D.04B is out now.
So which more recent document version would be expected to have the
widest support?
As for syntax version, how is the adoption of v.4? Is v.3 still used
in the majority? And how about v.4's newer features: embedded objects
(UNO/UNP), globalization (UTF-8 coding, etc.)?
Thanks,
Andrew
