Matt,

Yes, you want to get your hands on the X12.6 spec. It is for alphanumeric
characters. My translator has rejected more documents because someone put
an accent grave in the PID05 element.

The segment terminator is the SINGLE character after the ISA16 element of
your ISA segment.

I suggest you get authorization from your boss to purchase either the
EDIFECS Standards program or something similar. I've been at this game for
years and I still use the reference volumes.
