RE: Specs for PPP/FTP dial up for Advantis

Carl
The script we use to FTP to Advantis is as follows:
To send
OPEN 32.71.196.74
EB111.EB111S1 EB111S1
CD EDI
QUOTE SITE EDIALIASONLY 1
Put RKDTA40/FTPSEND IBMOUT.DAT
Quit
To receive
OPEN 32.71.196.74
EB111.EB111S1 EB111S1
Bin
namefmt 1
QUOTE SITE EDIALIASONLY 1
QUOTE SITE EDICRLF 1
lcd /IBMFTP
mget *.*
Quit
Note: When we are receiving, we are loading the data in the IFS.
This is necessary because of the long file names.
We then take the data out of IFS into our sodtware.

Subject: [EDI-L] Specs for PPP/FTP dial up for Advantis
I know that Advantis is doing away with dial up SNA and dial BSC.
That leaves 2 options
Secure FTP over the internet
Dial up PPP to an Advantis POP, and then doing unsecure FTP over the
dial
up. For low volume apps, the dial up PPP will work just fine.
Anyone have any specs for the PPP connection AND the FTP conversation?
