Hmm, does the question remain..

It may not be truly dead, but perhaps it's not feeling as spry as it used
to.

The case can be made that any time business data flows via electrons between
machines that "EDI" is being performed. :) We just don't have the gumption
to assert control over that which is rightfully ours. LOL
