Subject: FW: [members] Approval of UBL NDR v1.0 as an OASIS Standard
Greetings,

Please see the announcement below. The OASIS Universal Business
Language (UBL) XSD Naming and Design rules (NDR) provides for a
consistent approach to instantiating ISO 15000-5 ebXML Core Components
in XSD. The UBL NDR specification is the basis for the just released
U.S. Department of Navy XML NDRs, and has played a large part in the
soon to be released UN/CEFACT NDR Specification. UBL Schema and
methodologies are being adopted by a wide range of governments and
private sector companies around the world.

OASIS members:

We had previously announced [1] that the Universal Business Language
(UBL) Naming and Design Rules v1.0, an approved Committee Draft from the
OASIS UBL Technical Committee, had received sufficient affirmative votes
to be approved as an OASIS Standard, but that, due to the receipt of
several negative votes, the TC was required to decide whether to
proceed. The UBL TC has voted to request the specification be approved
despite the negative votes.

We are pleased, therefore, to announce that the UBL Naming and Design
Rules v1.0 specification has been approved as an OASIS Standard. The
submission of the approved standard can be found at [2].

Congratulations to the TC, and the community of implementers, developers
and users who have brought the work successfully to culmination.

JBC
