RE: A Supremely Silly Question...
I know that with some translators it is possible, but I finally
convinced them that keeping X12 standards the way they are is the better
way to go. Too many ways to screw things up.

Not too sure you CAN send them a decimal where it should not exist.
At least I know that with my translator, it will generate an error on
the
outbound mapping as the element fails compliance checking.
