TOPIC: "Best Practices in IT "
SPEAKER: Bob Dempsey, Southern California Edison and Chair of Scebiz4m
The world of IT management is seeing at least one major new departure in
"Best Practices," and it's called "ITIL," short for Information Technology
Infrastructure Library. SCEBIZ4M's own Bob Dempsey will share with us the
concepts behind this new best practice in management of the IT service
processes. ITIL is an international effort to establish best practices for
IT Service Management. ITIL takes a holistic view of IT service offerings
and defines best practices for 10 IT Service Management Process areas, which
Bob will introduce and discuss:
Configuration Management
Service Desk
Incident Management
Problem Management
Change Management
Release Management
Service Level Management
Financial Management For IT Services
Availability Management
Security Management
ITIL was introduced in the UK and is now being used in IT organizations at
many large corporations around the globe.
