I am working with a large electric utility to implement Sterling's
GIS, and we are researching the different "flavors" of XML to
implement. Is there a consensus on which to implement? xCBL? ebXML?
Rosettanet? Are most large F500s implementing multiple flavors?

I'm querying my largest trading partners and getting differing
opinions, so I'm asking the list for input also - although I expect
to get a multitude of opinions here too :-)
