EDI Outsourcing vrs In House

My company is in the process of starting up an EDI initiative. We are not
currently using EDI with any trading partners. I am in the process of
evaluating outsourcing versus buying a translator product and supporting it in
house. The platform that we are using is an AS400. Has anyone gone through
this process with any advice or feedback to offer? I'm interested in what
others have experienced. Thanks for your help.
