New Product Adds User Interaction to Mercator(r) Maps
Tal Systems Inc. of Racine WI announces the availability of the TSExitSuite,
software supporting the inclusion of "user prompt and response" features in
Mercator maps run on Windows(r) computer systems.
The TSExitSuite provides the functional equivalent of a "PROMPT" map rule
function, were one available. The map developer can prompt the user - at map
execution time - for up to twelve text strings from a simple dialog, and use
those user-supplied values as data objects in subsequent map rules.
The TSExitSuite includes a 32-bit Windows Dynamic Link Library (DLL) file for
use with the Mercator "EXIT" map function, a standalone Windows executable
program supporting map rule development outside the Mercator IDE, and extensive
documentation, which includes sample output cards, map rules and applications.
"Mercator map applications have always been 'batch' processes," says
TSExitSuite designer/developer Michael Mattias, " but user interaction adds a
whole new world of possiblilities for developers, users and managers alike."
"Developers can test maps under data conditions often not easily reproducible,"
Mattias goes on, " users may specify 'pick and choose' options for Mercator
applications, and managers can expand the use of Mercator mapping professionals
into the realm of interactive applications."
Tal Systems Inc. is marketing the product as shareware. Single-user licenses are
$59.00; discounts apply for multiple-license purchases.

attachment as either a ZIP archive file (68 Kb) or a self-extracting executable
file (106 Kb).
The TSExitSuite runs on Windows 9x/2000/NT (certification on Windows XP pending)
and with Mercator versions 1.x and 6.x (certification on other versions as
warranted).
