Extending An EDI XML Software Package
Raleigh, NC
June 16, 2005
American Coders, LTD announces a new beta release of its EDI software
developers kit Open Business Objects for EDI (OBOE). This release
provides for a major new application development tool along with
several minor software updates. OBOE is an EDI and XML parser written
in the Java language. This release is noted as 3.3.0 (Beta).
The new programming tool is a Java package named PIXES. PIXES stands
for "Programming Instructions XML, EDI & SQL." Essentially PIXES is
an XML parser. The XML tags used by PIXES are used to define the
structure of an EDI message and SQL interface points as well as
control logic. Using PIXES a process uses SQL data and other
programmable data structures to build or parse X12 messages. Included
in the PIXES processor is an interface to the open source application
OpenAS2. Future releases will allow the PIXES processor to work with
other EDI formats already built into the OBOE application. Though
still a beta product the OBOE package with the PIXES processor will be
released in the third quarter of 2005.
A trial version of the package is available as a free download to
current and registered OBOE users. The download package includes all
of the OBOE classes that work with EDI and XML objects and the new
PIXES processor.
For more information about the OBOE package visit the web site at
