That's the first time I've heard anyone say it was ok for the SCC-14 to not
utilize the UPC/EAN number of the product it contains. I suppose that solves
my problem with the SCC#.

As for that part about opening the case to scan the product inside- Our
customers would tear us apart if we tried something like that. I can just
see the line backed up at Walmart and the checkers dicing up every box they
can't find the UPC on with a box knife! Ahrrggghhh! :O
