My thoughts remain the same. In my experience the test data has always been
made up. It can't be processed through the application so there is no way to
actually test with it. Any transactions sent back have to be manually doctored.
What does this test?
Also, temporary sender and receiver IDs are used so this doesn't test the actual
connectivity and EDI set up. So in effect we do test by going live.
I understand that as a hub a company does not have the resources to educate
every supplier on the implementation of EDI. If a company wants to mandate EDI
it might be reasonable for them to pay a thrid party to help bring up partners
and deal with the novices. But for a trading partner that is already EDI
capable, the testing is a waste of time.

Don't mind the testing. Don't like the fees. Really don't like the
crappy implementation guides that make it difficult to pass on the
first try.
