Informatica question

We currently use the Sybase ECMap and ECGateway products to create and
exchange healthcare transactions with our trading partners. The
company is bringing in Informatica for other uses and I was wondering
if anyone here knows if it can be used as a replacement for the Sybase
products. I obviously have no experience with Informatica and have
been asked the question by higher ups.
