RE: Settings for non-HTML mail
I am using the same Yahoo ID I set up nearly two years ago and belong to 4
groups.
This list I linked to my work email but the others I channel to my hotmail
email, as occasionally a "hot topic" springs the list to life and I get
bombarded. (Like happened here). ....It will subside.
I have never had any problems with Yahoo whatsover, and have not received
any junk mail. They did eliminate the ads that used to be in the posts.
For a while they were at the top, then they moved them to the bottom... now
they are gone. You do see ads when you go to the eGroups site, but they
have gotten more tolerable there too.
With some of my other groups we keep files that can be referred to on the
site. It works great, as you can refer to them from anywhere. (You can
logon to Yahoo groups from any computer that has access to internet). And
do not have to be concerned about.. "where did I put that file"?.
I placed a "Sample EDI Trading Agreement" in the Files folder, as a test.
It works quite nicely once you get used to using it. (If I am not mistaken,
they give you around 20MB).

Beware of one thing:
Yahoo may "helpfully" (cough cough) convert your email to HTML without your
consent. To fix this, you need to go to the "Edit My Membership" link and
in the section entitled "HTML Email Conversion" make sure the radio button
"No Conversion" is checked.
I do not know if this change affects people who have never signed into the
group and use only the email facilities of the list.
