RE: POLL

My mother taught me a long time ago that popularity in and of itself is not
necessarily a valid reason to choose something.
(If all of your friends jumped off a cliff....)
There undoubtedly *ARE* valid reasons for one product's popularity and
widespread use over other products, and if your poll included those reasons
for the choosing one product over another the results would carry some
weight.
To answer your question, yes, it does matter to me why a poll is being
conducted.

Subject: [EDI-L] POLL
This has got to be the most untrustworthy group of people. Can't
anyone just break from the normal day to day drudgery that we call
EDI and do something different. Does it really matter why a poll is
conducted? Have you ever just been involved in a poll just because
you liked the question?
Maybe someone out there is looking for a new translator but can't
decide on which one to choose. What if the results of this poll
showed, although not scientifically accurate, that one translator is
more popular ( or at least used more often) than another. I mean,
who wouldn't want to at least check out the most popular translator.
There must be a reason for its popularity and widespread use.
I do appreciate the feedback from everyone that has provided input to
the poll so far.......
