RE: Re: POLL

Geez....it sure looks like a tight shoe is hurting the foot and that perhaps
there is an overly sensitive ego here.
If you want information from the EDI people on this list, why not treat them
like the knowledgeable individuals they are rather than calling them names.

Subject: [EDI-L] Re: POLL
Mickey,
Does it really matter that this was just a stupid poll. My God, all
of you that have replied with your smart, whiplike comments are just
too big for your britches. Sounds like a bunch of whining show offs
who have to be right. Get over your ego complex and provide
something useful to this group.
Oh, just one more thing, it is really none of your business who I am
or what I know. I don't need to provide my company name, phone
number, email address, company address, etc and so on, just to make
people think I know what I am talking about. I prefer not to be a
walking billboard and advertising engine for my company.
Thank you.

translators to the middle of the list when engaged to recommend
software. "There must be a reason..." often equates
to "marketing", "lemmings", "management by magazine", "herd
mentality" - well, you get the idea. Just my opinion.

all means check out as many packages as possible. If necessary, get
help from people who have worked with multiple translators and know
the correct and tough questions to ask. A strategy that has worked
well for me in the past is to let the vendors know that you will be
asking them to begin/build a small implementation on the spot (phone
or on-site). The catch is they will not know anything about it until
the presentation starts. Many will struggle, a few will decline
altogether. Real-life experience beats the brochure or market share
numbers for selecting software in my book.
