Here is my one cent....

<SALES> - designates a message marketing your product
<PRODUCT> - for posting general questions about a product

*** combine these into one just called Sales or Promo

<JOBS> - designates a message for a job opening or stating that you are
available for jobs

<LIST> - for posting messages or questions related to this list


<TECH> - designates a message regarding technical questions/issues.

*** I would like to see this dropped because to me it is the core topic of the
list.


<MISC> - for off topic discussions.
<EVENT> - to list an advent such as conference or user group meeting

The identifiers are stored in the footer of every message that is posted
now.

Use the category that you think is best when posting a message and
starting your thread.
