Re: Re: Mercator vs. BizTalk

If you are comparing BizTalk to anything, I would urge you to use the
lattter. We just went through a thorough test at our office and BizTalk
failed spectacularly, coming in the lowest of all the products reviewed. We
concluded BizTalk to be in the "design concept" stage, not even beta. Maybe
in a couple of more years ....
Data Junction has the database connections to do almost anything. These
guys are new to the EDI world but long in the tooth in database conversion
and mapping utilities. Very impressive. However, we considered TIE
Commerce and Sybase as our top picks. Mercator was declined due to several
reasons, but a big one was ease of use, also cost, especially when they wish
to sell the map standards as an extra cost option. TIE Commerce, while it
is not the real power hitter that Sybase is, was easy to use and supplied
virtually everything we needed.
Sybase was determined to be the best of all.
We were selecting for the NT/SQL world. If you are working in Unix or
Linux, your requirements may differ from our own.
