In some emails exchanged with JCPenney they indicated that I can still use
Sterling, but they don't support the interconnects.

When I asked for further explantion, they said that if their partners are on
the same VAN as them, they willl be able to track the transaction through
the VAN in case of missing data etc., but they can't do this if different
VAN's are used.

What they haven't told me yet is how much the expense offsets will be, as
per their letter "Failure to implement this transfer to either QRS or GXS
will subject your company to non-compliance EDI expense offsets."

So if I don't add another VAN to my system for one partner and pay the fees,
Penney will charge me because they can no longer track data due to their
process changes!

Can suppliers using Sterling still communicate with JCPenney via
interconnects?
