New Product Provides Simplified Reporting of ANSI ASC X12 TA1 Interchange
Acknowledgment and '997' Functional Acknowledgments
Racine WI, June 19, 2002. Tal Systems Inc. of Racine WI announces the release of
version 1.1 of the Tal Systems EDI Acknowledgment Reporting System, affordable
Windows(r) desktop software providing end-users a simple method to review and
report the information supplied by their trading partners in ANSI ASC X12 TA1
Interchange Acknowledgment segments and '997 Functional Acknowledgment'
documents.
Originally released in February 2002 as the "Functional Acknowledgment Reporting
System", the product has been renamed to indicate its support for both
interchange and functional acknowledgments.
Features and Benefits:
- No partner setup required; no special system components required; installation
requires no registry entries and does not replace any system files.
- No pre-processing of input files is required: the software extracts TA1s and
997s from any file regardless of other data in the file (other documents or
communications headers/trailers) or EDI data format.
- Supports wrapped, unwrapped, fixed-record-length wrapped (terminated),
Mercator TPPC/32(r) "mail_in" format or any mixture of data formats.
- Reports include literal explanations for all code values.
- Information is reported to whatever level of detail is supplied by the sender:
interchange, functional group, transaction set, segment and/or data element.
- Works transparently with ANSI version 3 and 4 versions of the 997.
- Reports may be viewed on-line, printed or saved to a file.
- Integrated report explanation and Introduction to ANSI ASC X12
Acknowledgments.
- Most-Recently-Used file list retained
- Marketed as shareware, providing "try before you buy."
- Low registration cost.
- Uses the proven Tal Systems Inc. scanning technology currently in service at
more than 2000 user sites in the USA.
"The TA1 and 997 Acknowledgments can be confusing, especially for entry-level
EDI users," says product designer/developer Michael Mattias. "The purpose of
these documents is often misunderstood."
Mattias goes on, "While the entry-level user is often interested only in an
"accept or reject" status, EDI professionals responsible for troubleshooting
rejected documents will appreciate the inclusion of syntax error explanations
and segment/element detail, as it makes locating errors possible without
additional mapping or software development."
Tal Systems Inc. is marketing the product as shareware with a 30-day evaluation
period. Registration for a single-user license is $25.00; discounts are provided
for multiple-license purchases.
The evaluation version of the product can be downloaded from Tal Systems' web
site at http://www.talsystems.com. The download is a 164 Kb ZIP archive file.
The Tal Systems EDI Acknowledgment Reporting System runs on Windows 9x/2000/NT
systems. Certification on Windows/XP pending.
Windows is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation Redmond WA USA.
TPPC/32 is a registered trademark of Mercator Software Wilton CT USA
