RE: <tech> GXS Update
Birth of a B2B giant
Last month, General Electric sold 90 percent of its B2B e-commerce unit,
Global eXchange Services, to the technology buyout fund Francisco
Partners in a deal valued at $800 million. The sale put GXS CEO Harvey
Seegers in charge of one of the world's largest electronic trading
networks. Seegers has big ambitions for the company, which claims as
customers more than 60 percent of the Fortune 500. CNET News.com spoke
with Seegers about the future of GXS and the market for B2B services.
