Jack,
I would talk to Sterling. They could give you some ideas.
I run version 5.2 of the unix product (working on 6.0) with EC
workbench. There are archive files in two places, the edihist
directory and the arch directory. They are structured similiarly
with data files and indexes (.dat/.idx files). If you get a good
backup of those directories it shouldn't be too hard to pull the
data back in. I usually just copy them back to my test system
if I need to grab an old file. If your test system is tight on
space you can just copy the .dat/idx files, then copy only the
data files within the date range you are searching thru...ie a
specific week. TS
