Gentran/Unix data archive

Hello Jack,
I've developed a very simple and nice Gentran archive,
stores all X12 and app data indefinitely on Windows.
For $150 you can buy a 120GB disk drive. Windows
supports transparent file compression which doubles
the effective storage to 240GB. The very high volume
EDI shop I currently work at can store 2 years data on
this drive, including huge SAP Idocs. Users browse
the data over the LAN using Windows Explorer, can
drill down by tp code, sort by date, search for
strings in files, etc. When this drive fills up I'll
install another drive, which by then will probably be
twice the storage for the same price. Disk space is
so cheap now that it does not make sense to archive to
tape or CD. I run two independent systems as a
backup. The users like it and don't use Gentran's
archive much anymore. I plan to post the source code
free on a web site if others are interested, hoping
that others will improve on it and help support it.
Is this something you might be interested in?
