Phil:
This is set in your trading partner relationship. From the TP menu,
select trading partner relationship, then find the document type for the
partner, take option 2 to change it and a few screens down you should
see the GS information. Are you trying to send an 8 char date? If that
is your problem, then on the 1st screen of the TPF, for the group
envelope specify GSY2K rather than GS. I suspect that may be your
problem.

Hello,

I am really glad to find this group. I am hoping that you guys can
help me out. We are trying to send outbound messages to a client for
the first time. We sent them our interchange but they said that we
need to change the GS03 element to be different. I have spent hours
trying to figure out how to so this but I have had no luck. The
product that we are using is EDI 2.1. I think it is a Harbinger
product. It is being run on an AS400. The GS03 is supposed to be
the Application Sender's Code but I can't find where to set that
value. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Thanks,
-Phil
