RE: X12 Specs

Edifecs offers a reference tool which provides all versions of the X12
standards, as well as EDIFACT, UCS, VICS, and WINS. This tool allows you to
browse through the transaction sets, search, and cross reference. It also
allows you to print an entire transaction set or any particular node. While
not free, this tool is extremely cost effective and a valuable reference
tool to have on hand.

Subject: [EDI-L] X12 Specs
Are there any public sources of information on X.12 EDI standards or
specs? I'm trying to locate a listing of all the transaction types/codes
and their corresponding function. I work for a freight shipping company
and need to find all of the transactions that we could possibly require.
It's hard to justify the expense of the standards themselves from DISA
or ANSI since we're a very small company and are just starting out.
Additionally, does anyone know of any Perl modules / code that's been
built to handle EDI transactions?
Thanks in advance,
Darren Young
