RE: XML HIPAA

Bob,
There is nothing on the radar screen for HIPAA to use XML. Who the
standards winner(s) for XML will be is anybodies guess. Our product,
Edifix, will output numerous XML schemas including the W3C XSD schema
and Biztalk schemas.

Subject: [EDI-L] XML HIPAA
I'm looking for an XML DTD or Schema for the HIPAA standard
transactions. I realize these are X12 and NCPDP based, but I'm looking
for a decent internal XML representation of these transactions -
hopefully something that is open, non-proprietary and has a shot at
gaining some industry acceptance after the HIPAA standards move on past
the current phase.
So far the only ones I've seen alluded to were the Biztalk schema and
apparently MS has bundled these with their HIPAA accelerator. From what
I can tell, they are proprietary and not to be used without the Biztalk
products.
Thanks for any help.
