I'm sorry if this ends up being a repeat, but I'm trying to get the
hang of posting...

At a previous employer, we had the need to automate the transmission
of HTTPS from a Solaris box. After some stumbling around, I found a
program called "curl". It was easy to install and get working and
should be even easier if you are using standard HTTP (port 80)
instead of secure (port 443).

The program is open source and can be found at: http://curl.haxx.se/
