Sort of. We have a re-formatting tool called DMXPRINT which takes tagged
hierarchical files in SDF format (I suspect this is what you mean) and
transforms them into reports, or other flat files, or relational
filesets. Historically it was used as a pre- or post-processor for our
converters, and thus whilst it had options to define fields as mandatory
we never used them, since the converter does that sort of thing with
greater sophistication.

More recently we have had to process files which are not in a
conventional EDI format (things like VDA, MFG/PRO and BISAC) and have
re-activated the mandatory checking capability. It is still a tool whose
prime purpose is re-structuring data, and the mandatory violation
reporting is an incidental, rather than an analyzer. It also will not
report on dependency violations.

So, if you cannot find anything else, it could be used. Let me know if
you get desperate!

Regards
Chris
