Thank you for pointing this out as I have been guilty of this behavior
myself. For me it's not for lack of appreciation. When I reach out to the
group it's usually because I've got a pressing deadline(s) and courtesy
falls by the wayside. For me a gentle reminder such as yours is enough to
wake me up to the importance of courtesy and take the time now to thank
those who have helped me in the past.

On several occasions I have responded privately to the poster of a
question.
In virtually all those cases I never received an acknowledgemnet, a thanks
for your input, I'll keep it under consideration, etc.

Has the advent of EDI caused common manners to be thrown out the door?

I wonder if anyone else has noticed the same trend
