Ok one more shot at clarification. We use TrustedLink EDI400, CL, RPG, some C,
VANs GE and IBM Advantis, One interface is through our secured server using our
EAI group to encrypt the files and communicate, the EDI system is on one AS400
and we interface with other AS400's running JDE World and One World software as
well as Peoplesoft. Lets see what else is there oh yeah FTP.
Thanks,
Dawn

By "Jack of all trades" I mean full support from programming to communications
setup for multiple applications, covering interfaces to mapping to
customer/vendor communication. We support the following docs:
inbound/outbound 850
in/out 855
in/out 856
out 810
out 860
out 830
out 834
in 852
in/out 820
in 823
out 832
We have around 2000 customers setup, 120 vendors, 3 banks, and 12 health
insurance providers. Currently I am the only go to person at Medtronic for EDI
so you can imagine the number of users I support not to mention the only go to
person and direct line to the external customers and vendors so communication
skills are extremely important. I hope that clarifies things a bit. I guess at
this point if I could get someone strong in any one area it would be a great
help, but my manager would like to duplicate me so I need to find another "jack
of all trades" person if I can.
Thanks,
Dawn

I know, I know, I missed the end of the day. But...

"Typical jack of all trades" EDI job?

What would this person be expected to do, support "typical jack of all trades
'850 Purchase Orders' ?" and "typical jack of all
trades '810 Invoices'?"

This certainly sounds vague enough to get you into "typical jack of all trades
trouble."
