RE: Legal issues of EDI DOC

Wendie,
EDI transactions are legal documents. Any 'unusual' business activities
should be spelled out in a trading partner agreement. Changing an EDI
message without the approval of a customer can cause legal problems.
Why is all this going on?

Subject: [EDI-L] Legal issues of EDI DOC
Hello Everyone,
I am looking for some general information about the legalities of EDI.
This is just a small example of what types of information I am looking
for.
What if a po is changed on the backend after a 997 is sent back. What
about after the 855 is sent back.
It is my understanding that EDI document should never be altered. With
the exception of receiving some type of po "860" change.
Any good reading out there?
Best wishes
Wendie
