Subject: Our systems group was asked to move to AS2 communications
We currently use a VAN and it works fine. I've received two letters
requesting that we migrate to AS2 connectivity. Our VAN connection
was put in years ago. Are the VANs offering this connectivity as a
service - given we don't have the time or resources to bother with
this?

If this is not a service I can get through the VAN - what are the
costs to implement this stuff? I am told I can get the software for
free but end up paying for support and implementation. (I got a
mailing that says another vendor will provide me software for
$300.) Has anyone put together a cost profile ... software,
certificates, any extra security stuff I need (SW/HW), and what
other things I need to worry about that my VAN did for me that I now
have to do myself?

No offense to anyone in this group...but this is getting crazy - if
the stuff works why are we constantly changing it....
