As a longtime vocal critic of the "XML:The Sure Cure For Whatever Ails You"
crowd, I am glad to have read this. It is the first
really well-stated and excellent *application* for XML data formatting in the
context of an 'ANSI/EDIFACT EDI shop' I have
encountered.

What with all the ERP systems offering XML import/export, and the general
availability of XML-enabling software, I shall definitely
keep this in mind.
