RE: GEIS bi-sync

This does not even help people with an external modem either because it
doesn't work.
It's not just as simple as that, to switch to Async when you are running
on a synchronized machine. It would be easier just to use FTP. The
whole idea is GEIS 'SAID' they would provide a seamless way of switching
over.

Subject: [EDI-L] GEIS bi-sync
The box that connects between your computer and your modem
essentially traps the phone number you are trying to call using GEIS
bi-sync and dials up something other than what you thought you were
calling. This doesn't help people with an internal bi-sync board.
Suggest that if you are doing GEIS bi-sync, you switch to GEIS Async.
It looks at the phone number and if it is a GEIS, the data is sent
IP, not bi-sync. You will allegedly not see a difference.
